About the Zine
The SAAAC Autism Centre and its social enterprise, Goodness Gift, are collaborating to launch The Art of Us—a zine that celebrates the creativity and perspectives of autistic and neurodivergent artists.
In order to launch its inaugural edition, we are looking for autistic and neurodivergent artists across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) who want to contribute their work to the zine. Whether through visual art, photography, or sculpture, The Art of Us is a platform to showcase your voice, your vision, and your story.
From all submissions, 12 artists will be selected to be featured in the zine. Each selected artist will receive:
- Art work and artist featured in our zine
- Receive $300 cash prize
How to Enter
Before your art can be judged, you need to agree to some rules. These are called “terms and conditions.”
- If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must help and agree to the rules too.
- If you have a support person helping you, they also need to agree to the rules.
Judging Criteria
The judges will choose winners based on the theme “Unfiltered Perspectives”:
- Originality – Does your art show a fresh, honest, and unique way of seeing the world?
- Skill – Is the art made with care and creativity? Does it help tell your unfiltered story?
- Personal Voice – Does the art feel true to your thoughts, feelings, or experiences?
What Kind of Art Can You Submit?
We accept:
- Drawings or paintings
- Photography
- Digital art
- Sculpture
- Multimedia
File Rules:
- JPEG or PNG
- Resolution: 300 DPI (dots per inch)
- File size: Between 1 MB and 10 MB

Tell Us About You
We’d love to know a little about you!
Please send a short biography (about 100-300 words) with your art.
It doesn’t have to be fancy — just tell us who you are. You can ask someone to help you write it if you’d prefer.
Who Can Enter?
There’s no age limit — anyone can join!
You can enter if you:
- Identify as autistic or neurodivergent
- Live in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA):
- Toronto: Downtown Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, York, and East York.
- York Region: Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Aurora, Newmarket, King, Whitchurch-Stouffville, East Gwillimbury, Georgina
- Durham Region: Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Uxbridge, Scugog, Brock
- Halton Region: Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Halton Hills (including Georgetown and Acton)
- There’s no age limit — anyone can join!
If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must help you submit your entry.
What Happens If You’re Selected?
- We will contact you by email or phone.
- You will get $300 as a thank-you for sharing your art.
- Your work will be published in The Art of Us zine
We will ask you to visit our Centre at:
705 Progress Avenue, Unit 63, Scarborough, ON
During your visit, we will:
- Photograph your artwork
- Take a professional photo of you for your artist profile in the zine
You may be invited to a special event to celebrate the zine launch.
