Social Pals is an intermediate-level social skills group designed to help children build confidence in interactive play, expand their play variety, and sustain meaningful interactions with peers. Through structured activities and guided play, children will learn essential skills for initiating and maintaining social connections.
Program Details:
- Day/Time: Tuesdays 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM (1x/week)

Goals of the Program:
- Developing the ability to independently initiate appropriate greeting behaviors in social situations.
- Building skills for meaningful, reciprocal play interactions with similar peers.
- Learning strategies to appropriately enter and participate in peer play.
- Developing communication skills to make appropriate requests from peers across different social settings and situations.
- Mastering the social skill of taking turns during various structured and unstructured group games and activities.
Eligibility:
To participate in Social Pals, children must:
- Group Ready: Your child is considered ready for group participation when they can remain in a shared space with other children while maintaining behavioral safety. This means they demonstrate the ability to be present with peers without engaging in behaviors that could pose risks to themselves or others, such as frequent aggressive actions, self-injurious behaviors, or attempts to leave the designated area without supervision.
- Can sit and maintain attention during group instruction for a minimum of 5 minutes.
- Be able to make spontaneous requests with adults

- Thoughtfully designed activities that naturally promote peer engagement and collaborative play experiences
- Guided instruction and practice in essential social behaviors, including turn-taking and reciprocal communication with peers
- Supportive environments where children can practice and strengthen their social interaction skills at their own pace
- Ongoing guidance and intervention from experienced ABA professionals within a carefully structured therapeutic setting
