Participants will learn to categorize emotions, accurately identify emotional states in themselves and others, and recognize situational triggers that may evoke specific emotional responses. A variety of regulation strategies will also be explored.

Goals of the Program:
- Learning to categorize various emotions within the four zones of regulation framework (red, yellow, green, and blue zones).
- Developing skills to identify and label emotions in oneself and recognize emotional states in others.
- Building the ability to connect specific emotional responses with appropriate social scenarios and situations.
- Learning to recognize and select effective coping and relaxation techniques for emotional regulation.
- Practicing the implementation of coping and relaxation strategies through guided role-play scenarios.
Eligibility:
To participate in the program, children must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Group Ready: Your child is considered ready for group participation when they can remain in a shared space with other children while maintaining behavioral safety. This means they demonstrate the ability to be present with peers without engaging in behaviors that could pose risks to themselves or others, such as frequent aggressive actions, self-injurious behaviors, or attempts to leave the designated area without supervision.
- Ability to sit and maintain focus during group instruction for a minimum of 10 minutes
- Demonstrates comprehension of sentence-level language when others are speaking
What to Expect:
Your child will participate in engaging, interactive lessons that incorporate social stories and problem-solving to build emotional understanding and social awareness. Our program provides a safe, supportive environment where children can explore their emotions and develop greater self-awareness. Through hands-on practice, they’ll learn coping strategies and relaxation techniques, all while receiving expert guidance from experienced ABA professionals who specialize in helping children develop strong emotional regulation skills.
