My Emotions is a structured group program designed to help children recognize emotions in themselves and others, understand how different situations evoke emotions, and develop effective coping strategies. Through social stories and role-playing activities, participants will learn alternative actions for managing challenging situations in a supportive and engaging environment.
Program Details:
- Duration: April 2 – June 18
- Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM (2x/week)
- Ages: 6–9 years
- Location: 1870 Birchmount Rd; Scarborough, ON

Goals of the Program:
- Recognize and label emotions in oneself and others
- Match different scenarios with corresponding emotions
- Learn and practice coping and relaxation strategies
- Engage in role-playing to apply coping strategies in real-life situations
Eligibility:
To participate in My Emotions, children must:
- Be “group ready” (able to stay in a room with peers without engaging in behaviours that may pose a risk to themselves or others, such as high rates of aggression, self-injury, or elopement)
- Be able to sit and attend to a group lesson for at least 10 minutes
- Be able to make spontaneous requests
- Be able to understand others using sentences
