The Fit & Fun Program is an 11-week initiative designed to help children and youth on the autism spectrum develop functional fitness, mobility, and nutritional awareness. Held at the SAAAC Autism Centre in Scarborough, the program includes weekly sessions that integrate fitness activities and nutritional workshops, supported by a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers.

- Group 1: Tuesdays, 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM
- Group 2: Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 6:45 PM
- Group 3: Tuesdays, 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM

Goals of the Program:
- Develop functional fitness, strength, and mobility through structured fitness sessions.
- Enhance motor planning and coordination using the FUNdamentals Long-Term Development model.
- Educate participants and caregivers about healthy eating habits through interactive nutritional workshops.
- Foster independence, confidence, and overall well-being.
Eligibility:
- Children ages 4-12 on the autism spectrum.
- Participants must commit to the full 11-week program.
What to Expect:
- Fitness and Mobility Training:
- Weekly fitness sessions focusing on agility, balance, coordination, and motor planning.
- Activities tailored to individual abilities using scaling and prompting techniques.
- Nutritional Workshops:
- Practical workshops for participants and caregivers, including meal planning and food label reading.
- Hands-on activities such as food demos and hydration tips.
- Facility:
- A fully equipped 1,500 sq. ft. gym designed to meet the needs of participants.
