More than 240 walkers took to the course this year. Families, friends, sponsors, and volunteers moved together for a single reason: to make sure autistic children and their families in our community can access the support they need.

As of today, the 2026 Walk-A-Thon has raised more than $143,000. Our fundraising platform stays open until August 31, so that number is still climbing.

A Morning That Set the Tone

We were joined by Michael Parsa, Ontario’s Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, who spoke at the opening and officially started the walk. Having him there, standing with our families, was a reminder that this work is seen and valued well beyond our own community.

From there, the day belonged to everyone who came out. Food, games, and entertainment turned the event into what it’s always meant to be: a celebration, not just a fundraiser. The photos and video below capture that far better than words can.

What This Funds

Every dollar raised goes directly toward SAAAC’s Case Management and Caregiver Skills Training (CST) programs. These programs give autistic children and their families access to services at no cost, at a time when cost is often the biggest barrier to getting help.

Case Management helps families navigate a system that can be confusing and overwhelming, connecting them to the right supports at the right time. CST equips caregivers with practical tools they can use every day, at home, to support their child’s development.

Neither program works without funding like this. Neither program works without people like you.
