Social Enterprise Business Rep

We’re seeking a qualified business development rep to extend our reach through discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. Our ideal candidate will be trusted to take the lead, use initiative, and help build the Social Enterprise program. Highly skilled at sales and business operations, this person will join and inspire a team of like-minded go-getters to achieve the SAAAC Autism Centre’s vision.

The Business Development Rep is the face of the Social Enterprise Program. This individual will combine product marketing and sales to grow the program. This role is also responsible for the growth and maintenance of fundraising revenues that support the Centre’s strategic vision and fund development strategies and goals. Financial and in-kind support will be achieved through building relationships and securing support with current individual and corporate donors and sponsors as well as new prospective supporters.

About Social Enterprise – Goodness Gift

The Goodness Gift is a gift basket social enterprise that supports the employment of individuals on the autism spectrum. Our young adults with ASD are trained to be employed in all aspects of the enterprise operation – from order processing to inventory management to the packaging and delivery of gift baskets.  


  • Manage existing sales pipeline
  • Develop and nurture new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Promote and advocate for the organization and the Social Enterprise Program
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
  • Develop and implement outbound sales and business development strategy, and sales processes
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
  • Key point of contact to outside vendors, donors, and local community partners.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of fundraising programs and special events as well as subsequent communications with both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Represent SAAAC in a positive and professional manner


  • 2.5 hrs. of training provided

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in sales and retail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working experience with sales techniques
  •  Ability to interact effectively with the community and develop relationships with local businesses and organizations.
  •  Proficient computer skills in MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated technical experience in the realm of social media.

Volunteer Engagement Assistant

Volunteer Engagement Assistant

Job Description

The Volunteer Engagement Assistant helps the Volunteer Manager with coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions at the SAAAC Autism Centre. The Volunteer Engagement Assistant ensures that the interests of volunteers are served, and that the organization remains well staffed. They coordinate and schedule volunteers on an ongoing basis and organize single events. They must also keep existing volunteers informed via emails/newsletters or other communications, track volunteering hours, and create program reports to ensure the organization has enough volunteers to fulfill its service mission. To meet that goal, the Volunteer Engagement Assistant must perform a variety of duties involving recruitment of volunteers, training and program planning. They reach out to established volunteers or seek new help using various marketing tools, including volunteer databases, e-mail letters, and outreach events.

Key Responsibilities and Duties include:

· Implement goals and objectives for the volunteer program which reflect the mission of the organization

· Screen potential volunteers according to screening standards and practices

· Orient volunteers to increase their understanding of the organization, its clients, its services and the role and responsibilities of volunteers

· Ensure that volunteers are given appropriate training to be successful in their positions

· Prepare a monthly report outlining the contribution of the volunteer program to the organization

· Implement the effective strategies to recruit volunteers with the right skills at the right time to match interest of the organization

· Organize and attend recruitment events to attract new volunteers

· Using a volunteer database, tracking volunteer hours and updating volunteers’ contact information.

·Help organize and maintain office systems and files

· Greet and direct visitors (not during COVID restrictions).

·Participation in planning, staff meetings, organizational tasks, receiving phone calls, evaluation and other tasks as required by the organization.

· Help design formal or informal activities to recognize the contributions of volunteers to the organization

Required Skills, Knowledge and Characteristics:

· Strong communication skills – written and verbal,

· Strong community building skills and experience

· Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

· Strong computer skills and proficiency in word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications

· Attention to details; clear understanding of the non-profit sector; and ability to handle information confidentially

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a diverse type of people

· Excellent organizational, time management skills, and ability to cope with limited resources, seize opportunities and think creatively

· Good work ethics, a flexible and non-judgmental approach to people

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently

Fund Development Officer

About the Assignment

Responsibilities may be assigned or combined depending on staffing:

· Works with Director of Development to draft and complete grant applications
· Research and shortlist appropriate granting programs for SAAAC’s programming objectives
· Collect and organize the necessary information/documentation required to complete the grants assigned
· Work with Director of Development to initiate working partnerships with community agencies and other organizations/businesses
· Generate leads for prospective donors, sponsors and granting programs
· Generate proposals in a persuasive and professional manner

Skills Required

· Demonstrate strong organizational skills
· Demonstrate attention to detail
· Superior skills researching and synthesizing academic and policy papers
· Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
· Demonstrate superior writing skills
· Work well under pressure and meet deadlines


Undergraduate degree or College Diploma in the Liberal Arts, Humanities, Business, Marketing or a related discipline/program. Equivalent relevant work-experience is also acceptable

Digital Fundraiser

Digital Fundraiser

Minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week;  Minimum of 4 months.

Open to both working professionals and students.

About the Assignment:

In order to diversify SAAAC’s fundraising streams, we have developed #SAAACCommunity – an online platform that encourages community members to fundraise in their own unique way. Within minutes, community members can create their own fundraising pages and begin connecting with their friends and family to raise critical funds for autism services provided by the SAAAC Autism Centre.

Our Centre is in need of innovative, passionate, and driven individuals with an interest in sales and marketing to help increase the impact of the #SAAACCommunity platform.  With your contribution, we hope to make our platform a driver of social change and community transformation.


– Identify and recruit individuals and companies who will take part as fundraisers on the #SAAACCommunity platform

-Assist in the creation & execution of digital marketing strategies that deliver qualified fundraisers

– Marketing /demand generation initiatives via social media, email, etc

-Be part of #SAAACCommunity’s content production process – publish original blog posts and edit submissions from our partners
