July 4 to August 19
Summer isn’t summer without camp. At SAAAC, our staff, volunteers, facility and activities are all geared towards helping children and youth have an incredible summer, all the while learning a thing or two along the way
What to Expect SAAAC Summer CAMP
We believe learning and fun go hand in hand. That is why all our activities- from arts & crafts to a day at the park- are ABA embedded, which means we are constantly teaching valuable skills through play. Many of our programs take into consideration many different domains, which include:
- Fine motor skills
- Gross motor skills
- Social skills
- Play skills
Through a variety of engaging programming (which include arts & crafts, baking, fitness, community excursions, and more!) we will look to develop the above mentioned skills.
About SAAAC summer CAMP
Our Camp Staff are certified and trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). They have years of experience working with individuals with autism and are committed to creating a fun, safe, and educational environment for children and youth to enjoy and grow. All Camp Staff have completed Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention certification and have passed Vulnerable Sector checks.
Our Volunteer Camp Counsellors are some of the liveliest people you will ever meet. They bring a lot of energy and passion to their work. SAAAC’s Camp Counsellors are largely from university or college programs. All camp counsellors must go through a five hour training on how to work with individuals with autism and must clear Vulnerable Sector checks.
Campers will be supported by a 1:1 camper to counselor ratio. Given our dedicated volunteer base, this ratio is likely to be higher.
The rate for SAAAC’s Summer CAMP is $350/week
For 1 on 1 Support – $450/week
