About SAAAC Autism Centre
The SAAAC Autism Centre is a Toronto based charity whose mission is to make autism services equitable for all Canadians. The Centre provides culturally responsive autism services targeting culturally and linguistically diverse families. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, our Centre offers a dynamic range of services that support the development of individuals on the autism spectrum at all life stages, along with their caregivers
Your Role on Our Team
We are currently seeking applicants for a full time Communicative Disorders Assistant position in our Speech and Language program. This position will work directly with children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families individually and in group settings to provide speech-language intervention. Clinical supervision will be provided by supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver client-specific speech-language interventions for children and adults with ASD
- Provide primarily in-person services and some virtual services (as needed)
- Provide parent training during sessions as needed
- Provide one on one and small group intervention
- Participate in team meetings
- Supervise placement students and volunteers as neede
- Prepare therapy materials for sessions and for the team- using Boardmaker, LessonPix
- Program administration support
Minimum Qualifications
- Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
Additional Qualifications and Requirements
- Police Clearance – Vulnerable Sector Check
- Professional liability insurance required and should be in good standing
