Ready to Play Fitness Program

Posted on: July 14th, 2017 by SAAAC No Comments

Being active is important for any child, but for a child with autism it’s particularly important. Not only does exercise improve physical well being, it’s also a great way to boost mental health, increase self-confidence and a great way to help socialize with others.

The Ready to Play program is an adapted fitness program for children and youth ages 7-12 + 13-21. The program will have a variety of well-structured activities that develop fundamental movement skills and overall motor skills including agility, balance, and coordination.

The program will work on developing five major areas of movement:

Pushing
Pulling
Bending/Squatting
Locomotion

By working on these areas our athletes will build strength, stability and coordination with the goals of performing more complex movements over time.
